Vintage C 1919 SAMPLE SS White Brand Tooth Paste Tube, Carton, Brochure

Description

This is a sample of the S.S. White brand tooth paste, including the tube of tooth paste, the cardboard carton it was given in and a paper brochure telling about how to brush your teeth and other products of S. S. White. The product was made by S. S. White Dental Mfg, Co., Philadelphia.  It proudly says it was Made in the United States of America.  It does say on the box "Sample. Penalty For Sale 0."  The item is undated but I found an ebay seller with an ad for this product and the ad was dated 1919.  I think the company was way ahead of its time-it had the white tooth paste in a tube and also sold a floss (made of silk!) and a mouth wash.  It did have a tooth powder.  Box measures 2 3/4" x 3/4" square and the tube is slightly smaller.  Brochure opens to 5" x 8" (3 panel both sides).  Box is in OK condition-missing its two short ends.  The tube is hard as a rock but full with some damage but better condition than I expected,  And the paper brochure is a little brittle but nice condition.  Well over 100 years old, a product not seen on ebay now or in the recent past and to top it all off, it is a Sample.
