Description
This is a vintage unopened box of Statler yellow tissues from the 1950's.The picture on the back of the box shows a car with very tall tail fins, the type that were common in the late 1950's.
The item has no zip code in the address. Zip codes were not introduced until 1963. The original price of 2 boxes for 33 cents is stamped on one end.
This is a difficult to find item, and in this clean condition, nearly impossible to locate another one for sale. This box is more rare than vintage Kleenex and Scotties boxes from the 1950's. Statler products are not commonly seen today.
This box has been in storage since the 1950's, never displayed, so the colors are still good, and not faded. This item is in very good condition for a 60+ year old sealed tissue box.
I
have three other Statler paper products on auction this week, including a pack of yellow Statler toilet paper with the same flower design on the wrapper as this box has.
Statler paper products are scarce, and are rarely available for sale. I do not see any other Statler paper products on eBay, including sold items
, (other than the items that I have previously sold).
Statler Tissue Co. was in business for nearly 100 years, and was a major American producer of tissues, toilet paper, paper towels, and paper napkins. There are many stories on the internet about the Statler Paper mill in Augusta, Maine. That particular paper mill was not purchased by Statler Tissue until 1967. Their paper goods were made at other locations prior to the purchase of the paper mill in Augusta, Maine.
This will be carefully packaged in a box to prevent damage in shipping. This is a large tissue box, with 400 sheets.
Paper goods are a bit heavy to ship. After adding a shipping box and packing material, this will ship at the two pound rate.
I do combine shipping if you purchase more than one item, and I pass the postage savings on to you.
