    Description

Here is an early "taper arm" style Victor Concert Reproducer in working order. I has been Rebuilt by John Nagy (since these can be tricky to rebuild properly). The original plating is worn some, so there is some brass showing mostly on the outer body. There is a hairline crack in that metal front as well. See the pics for detailed condition (you can enlarge them). It does not have any effect on the function of this reproducer, however. It is one of the Best Sounding Examples of this style reproducer that I have heard! It has a new rear rubber flange (since it would likely need one if it was never changed). The serial number is only #15082. It is stamped "For Taper Arm" under the mica diaphragm. This hard to come by style reproducer followed the "Long throat" style that had a long neck on it for front mount horn machines and then, right after that, for a Very Short Time, it followed the "Rigid Arm" style ones, which mounted to a flat metal plate that would rotate up and down, so that it could "float" on the record. Very soon after the Tapered Tone Arm was put into production, Victor came out with the Victor Exhibition Reproducer and that became the standard one that came on most factory machines for many years (those are much more common). The reproducer that I'm offering for sale was not made for very long, so they are scarce today! It can be used on most rear-mounted outside horn style Victor Talking Machines, but would have more likely come on one of the "Lettered" Models, like a Victor E, M, MS or D. They don't play any better than a Victor Exhibition, but are Much More Rare! Be sure and check out the many other Antique Phonograph & Edison Items that I also have for sale on eBay at this time, such as some Complete Outside Horn Machines, Extra Horns, Other Reproducers, Steel & Fiber/Bamboo & Cactus Thorn Original Needle Packs, Rare 78 RPM Picture Records, Original Owner's Instruction Manuals for many inside horn model Victor Victrolas, RCA Victor "Nipper" Dog Collectibles, Literature and Related Reference Books, Etc. I plan to add items for sale here almost daily at this time. Thanks for looking!
