At its heart is a beautifully figured Meinl Woodcraft Peruvian cajon that, when miked up, really rivals the round low end you can get from a bass drum. Meinl's included direct-drive mounted kick pedal is the perfect mate. Its soft beater safely coaxes warm tones out of the Baltic birch shell, and so snappy is its response that even doubles and complex patterns will roll off the foot in no time. On backbeat duty is the Meinl Cajon Snare, a 7.5" wood shell with internal snares that's also handy for train beats and clave rhythms. This drum mounts conveniently to the included Meinl hi-hat stand, which is topped with a pair of crisp, clean, cutting Meinl 13" HCS hats.
