Description
Very rare and original, 1910’s Victor Talking Machine Company / Victrola Records Chromolithograph Die Cut Advertising Hand Fan in the shape of a vinyl Victrola Record.This very early, Victrola Records Advertising Fan measures approx. 13 1/2” tall including its original wood handle and 8” in diameter at the head.
The front side of the Fan features an image of a Victrola Record with Nipper on the label. The record’s title is “I Hear You Calling Me” by John McCormack. Ther is an overprint above the label that features the name of the Record Store – Watkins Brothers Inc of Boston.
The back of the Fan also depicts a Victrola Record titled “A Perfect Day” by Evan Williams and also features 7 images of groups of people having parties and dancing to music played on a Victrola Record Player. Text at the top of the Fan reads “The Favorite Entertainment at Every Summer Party – The Victrola”.
This rare and original, Victrola Record Player and Records Advertising Hand Fan is in very good condition. The Fan displays nicely with light edge wear. The original wood handle is a bit loose at the attachment to the head of the Fan and there is some surface wear from the handle moving back and forth (see the scans below). to the die cut edges. With a quality matting and framing the Fan will display nicely!!
